Death Records

records research

Death records are the workhorse records for genealogists. Not only do they list date of death for the person, but list place of death, date of birth, birthplace, name of cemetery, parent's names and mother's maiden name. By finding a death certificate, you can go back one generation and learn more about parents. Note that the information on the certificates are only as good as the informant.
